STEP ONE:
|
This benchmarking wizard will quantify your company's improvement potential
by comparing a typical company of your size to one with world class best
practices. The calculation reflects the potential results ProfitLink
has observed in over 100 manufacturing, distribution and service companies.
The wizard assumes your company has made average progress in implementing
improvements, systems and practices in the last three years.
INSTRUCTIONS: You must enter your company's annual sales and reclassify your
income statement to the categories listed below to receive a proper estimate
of your improvement potential. Enter sales numbers without commas or spaces, but
decimal values are OK. Income statement categories are reflected as
a percentage of sales. The definitions used to reclassify are listed behind
each category. If you are having trouble accessing these definitions, please
click here for more help. Be sure that all expense
categories of your income statement
are reflected.
The default percentage values listed are a blended average of the 100
companies included in the benchmarking. In order to use the benchmarking
wizard you are required to provide only sales information. The results
shown in step #3 will be calculated using the benchmarking averages. These
results will be less specifically meaningful to your company but they will
provide an interesting comparison to the overall industries included.

Frequently Asked
Questions:
Why benchmark?:
By entering basic financial information about
your company, you can benchmark your performance
against industry averages and
best-in-class companies. In addition, we provide
typical ranges of the P & L impact that our
products and services could make for a company
like yours. You will see the potential
improvement to your bottom line.
If you provide a valid e-mail address in Step 3,
we will also send you a detailed breakdown of the
P & L impact across the nine basic business
processes to give you a better idea of where the
hidden costs may be in your company.
Why is this data so
valuable?:
The data in this proprietary benchmarking tool
is taken from published financial performance
data of top companies, while the
high and low ranges of typical P & L impact has
been drawn from our extensive work with
clients.
Can I talk to someone
about the results?:
A more extensive look at the numbers is easily
possible. If you provide a valid e-mail address
in Step 3, then additional detailed information
will automatically be sent to you. If you would
like to discuss the results or ask any questions,
please contact Mike Ripley at mikeripley@profit-link.com,
